God told Noah to build a big boat, the ark. Noah obeyed just as God commanded him. But his friends and neighbors laughed at him. Then God told Noah to go and gather animals of every kind to bring into the ark with his family. Noah also brought a lot of food into the ark for them to eat. Noah obeyed just as God commanded him. When the animals and Noah's family were inside the ark, God shut the door. Soon it rained, and then it rained some more, until water covered all the land and mountains. But Noah's family and the animals were safe and dry inside. When the earth was dry, God told Noah and his family to come out of the ark with all the animals. Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and worshipped Him.
